Sept -Oct Saturday Parking

Parking is at the top of the hill behind the woods you see from the road. Our farm is well hidden from the road. Park on the left in the gravel or once that fills up park on the grass. Walk your own adventure or enjoy a wagon ride on Saturdays in the fall! (Sept - Oct) We will have wagon rides primarily to and from the pumpkin patch. (Our wagon is big enough to hold a few strollers as well, no worries!)

clothing

It is important to dress for the weather. We always recomend closed toe shoes.

families

We welcome familes to our farm! You will be walking on dirt, grass, and gravel. There are lots of things to learn about and experience. We encourage you to get dirty and have fun. This year we added a Log Tunnel for the children to climb through. No Entrance Fees or Fun Fest.

Payment

We accept cash or credit, cash is always appreciated. If you wish to pay with Silver, we can work that out as well. We add a 4% services fee for credit card processing.

Weather

Our farm will be open unless the entire day is a washout. We know families drive quite a distance and often can not predict the weather. Our primary goal is to remain open, this is the only way for the produce to get picked! Farmers often pick in the rain or lite sprinkles. You can always call ahead but expect for us to be open. We may not have as many people working, and the tractor drivers may go home on lousy days but someone will be here to help direct you to find fun stuff to pick!

Enjoy a few Samples

Here at Ransom we want you to enjoy sampling the tasty delights you find. There is no better way to get to know the fruit than by sampling them. Berries are easy to sample, and apples might seem wasteful. Be considerate and share it with family when possible. This is why we charge by the container for the activity. Fill the bag up, or the assumption is you already ate them.

Do we allow pets

Picking Your Own Fruit is a Human activity. We do not allow pets in the fruit production areas. If you must bring a pet there are many places to walk him on our farm. Please use a short leash and respect those around you.

When is the best time to pick... Raspberries

The best answer is always "the earlybird gets the worm". But keep in mind there is more to this answer. Raspberries rippen quickly so thats why we are open every other day... so pick on the days we are open. A better answer is get here in the first hour. An even better answer is to evaluate whether you are the first picker that day or not; and if not walk aroudn a little to find where nobody has picked yet that day... or 10 people.

Blueberries

Raspberries We have 5 varieties of Blueberries and they rippen between Early July and Mid August. Be sure to pick up a map and know which variety we are picking when you arrive. Don't judge the entire row by the first few bushes.

pick your own is open as scheduled, Even on rainy days!

Wagon rides may not be available on rainy days, but you can always walk.
